1952 Gibson CF-100e

I have been asking the dealers coming to The KC Guitar Show to send info about what they are bringing. The blog posts are going to get fun.

This 1952 Gibson CF-100e will be there. It is the original acoustic electric. It was the first Gibson flat top acoustic model to feature a cutaway, and built-in pickup.

For guitar geeks, it is all solid woods with scalloped X-bracing which makes it different from Gibson’s later laminate-construction electro-acoustic model, J-160E. That one is ladder-braced. This is your chance to see a very rare instrument in person. The Gibson CF-100e was produced between 1951 and 1959. Only 1257 were shipped for the entire production run.
